atelier_bp part I. (2007-2008)

18. January 2008. – 08. February
MegnyitóOpening: January 17, 2008, 7:00 pm
The present exhibition displays the first part of a photo series which offers a ‘behind-the-scenes’ view of the studios of a number of visual artists living and working in Budapest. As opposed to traditional studio shots, however, the portrayed artists are omitted from these pictures, which show their working environments only.

The French atelier in the title more accurately describes the spaces documented in the photo series, since these are not studios in the classical sense; much rather they are fixed-up living rooms or bedrooms. These spaces are in recurrent transition, which makes the captured scenes all the more interesting as documents of the given period for both artist and spectator.
