We present the new series of Claudia Tamási who is one of the youngest artists of Godot Gallery. The series title is Unknown works, the most directly inspiration came from the Balzac’s novel The unknown masterpiece. We can see oil on canvas works about paintings which are framed with elaborate, chilesed or a simple but very obvious frame, but very strangely these paintings are inversely in their frames. Int he atelliers or in art galleries the back of a painting inspires mystery and makes curious the viewer. This situation means safety for the artist: as long as she shows just the back of the painting she owns it. And if we reverse it the intimacy desappears, she became also an ousider spectator.

The new works of Claudia Tamási are about the painting as an object, as a subject, as the mediator of the thoughts, as a personal mold. She tried to visualize the behaviour of paintings. The process of creation, when she begins to paint a picture she can never know if she will make a real masterpiece or won’t. Usually this verdict is brought not by her so the desire of giving her best and do a real masterpiece never pass off.
