Postapocapitalist

MegnyitóOpening: September 27, 2019, 7:00 pm
The exhibition of Miklós Mécs (x4 + Judit Fischer + AMBPA) ‘who articulates formless thoughts of imperfect systems of disproportion in a written format’, offers the possibility to read these ideas, plans of artworks, post-conceptual statements and pieces of life coaching advices.

Miklós Mécs is an intermedia artist, who typically works with other artists and collaborators in various collectives and constellations. The ancestor of these is the Association of mouth and brain painting artists (ambpa), co-founded with Judit Fischer, which, by the twisting of everyday situations, points to the inferiorities of what is considered to be normal or abnormal. This exhibition also follows the logic and structure typical of ambpa exhibitions.

Mécs is constantly testing his own greed; he is very dedicatedly leaving his strongest ideas behind, he loves to ‘potter about, but only for a minute’ and ‘waste a lot of energy to demonstrate his indifference’. ‘He chews his mouth from the inside to make his face smaller.’ He is systematically trying ‘not to do anything (after all, everything happens anyways)’, ‘to live without money’ (he is saving up for a stadium) and ‘to completely erase the future’.

‘If everything is needed, it requires a whole humanity, but if nothing is needed, one person (‘s lifetime) is more than enough.’
