Post-Communist Art in Post-Communist Europe<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n The lecture will discuss the notion of Post-Communist art within the democratic identity of the culture in the Post-Communist Europe.\u00a0 The problem of artistic interventions in democratic spaces previously appropriated by the totalitarian ideology, definitions of democracy and identity rooted in writings of essential post-Marxists, historical memory, criticisms of capitalism \u2013 crucial factors defining Post-Communist identity of art in Europe are often incorporated into the notion of democratic art and democratic strategies. Analyses of various art works of the political relevance from the Central-Eastern Europe after the fall of Communism will focus on the significant conflict of the democratic art and democracy. Works by Yael Bartana, Zofia Kulik, Stefan Constantinescu, Anna Baumgart, Nedko Solakov, Braco Dimitrijevi\u0107, Mladen Stilinovi\u0107 and others, will be interpreted with the categories of Post-Marxism and Psychoanalysis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Magdalena Radomska \u2013 art historian, Assistant Professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna\u0144, Poland. Author of PhD on Hungarian Neo-Avant-Garde (1966-80). She received scholarships at the Courtauld Insitute of Art in London, MTA in Budapest and at ELTE in Budapest.
