The Alberto Vilar Global Fellows in the Performing Arts have been established by philanthropist Alberto Vilar at New York University to identify and support promising students of exceptional talent in the performing arts from around the world for a special two year program of graduate education, training, and support. As one of the largest private universities in the nation, New York University has earned a prominent position in the world of the performing arts. The University faculty, including musicians, writers, playwrights, filmmakers, dancers, choreographers, composers, directors, and designers in the vanguard of their respective disciplines, are deeply committed to training the next generation of artists. NYU\’s location in the heart of New York City, the foremost center for the arts in the United States, ensures that the Vilar Global Fellows will be able to balance their study with significant involvement in the rich cultural life of New York City.
