International Bauhaus Award
határidődeadline: 2004. August 20.
Call for Entries
The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation will be presenting the International Bauhaus Award
for the third time on October 23rd, 2004.
The Third International Bauhaus Award will
be conferred for urbanite projects addressing new spatial relations of “Transit Spaces”: transnational agglomerations without a city, “diasporic public spaces”, and areas where informal economies intersect. The International Bauhaus Award is aimed at young designers and academics. Submission of teamwork is possible and desired.
Closing date for entries is Friday, August 20th, 2004.
Subject matter
“Transit Spaces” is a metaphor for new urban spaces: forerunners of globalisation
processes, and laboratories marked by a new extent of abrupt changes, uncertainties
and insecurities. When cities become transit places, the urban space changes: flexibility and mobility become key qualities. A shift in the relation of space and society is the consequence. New spatial orders with a transnational range are being superimposed on the familiar territorial lines.
Concepts and realised projects submitted for the International Bauhaus Award should relate to new concepts of urbanity, and demonstrate visions for shaping the described processes and changes.
