The Van Eyck invites artists, designers, photographers, architects, curators, writers, and thinkers to apply for a residency at the Jan van Eyck Academie for 4 up to 12 months. Participants are given the time and space that is needed to develop their talents, to discover as yet unexplored perspectives and delve into deeper layers of themselves.
The whys of applying
Apply if you feel the time is ripe to take your work to another level in an open environment, to experiment and investigate, to see your work reflected in the mirror of the world or to do what no one fully grasps yet. Apply if you would like to meet artists, designers, curators, and thinkers from all quarters of the world. Apply if you want to be part of a community, establish collaborations and set up an In-Lab with other participants. Apply if you want to make use of our high-quality, well-equipped Labs. Apply if you would like to participate in a Mirror project. Apply because you know the Van Eyck is the right place to be.
Applying is done digitally. Apart from the online application form, the other required parts have to be sent in one PDF file to . For voluminous files (like videos), please insert a link to the server/website/You Tube/Vimeo where the file can be viewed. Please make sure all the links to external sites work at least up to two months after the deadline has past. The registration fee is €65. The registration procedure is included in the online application.
An application consists of:

2. a PDF file containing the following parts. These parts should be preceded by a clear table of contents. The PDF file shouldn’t be larger than 10 MB.
a) a projectproposal stating goals and purpose of your stay (max. 500 words)
b) first ideas concerning an In-Lab: http://www.janvaneyck.nl/programma/in-labs/ (max. 500 words)
c) documentation of recent work (dating back no longer than 5 years, max. 20 works)
d) your resume (max. 2 pages)
