Art Explora is a non-profit organisation founded in 2019 by the French patron Frédéric Jousset, based on his belief in the power of culture to create dialogue and to reinforce social cohesion. The foundation is committed to bridging cultural gaps in all the projects it undertakes by promoting access to arts and culture for as many people as possible. Apply here: https://art-explora.wiin-organizers.com/en/competitions/Residency-program-Art-Explora-Cite-internationale-des-arts To support international artists, Art Explora created in 2021 a new biannual residency program in collaboration with the Cité internationale des arts in Paris. The first residency session began in March 2021 and welcomed for its first edition 20 residents of all ages and nationalities, in the Cité des arts de Montmartre, a stone’s throw from the Sacré-Cœur, in the heart of Paris. Until November 15, 2021, artists and researchers from all around the world and with no age limit, may apply to this unique residency program, with a project that questions relations between art and science, technology, social and ecological contemporary challenges. The second edition will be divided in two sessions of six months, respectively starting in March 2022 and September 2022. The residencies will be of two types: a SOLO program for artists only and a DUO program for collaborations between artists and researchers. All residents will receive a grant for living expenses and production. The selection committee is composed of leading figures from the worlds of art and academic research: –Diana Campbell Betancourt: Artistic Director of the Samdani Art Foundation and curator of the Dhaka Art Summit (USA & Bangladesh) –Vinciane Despret: Philosopher of sciences, Professor at the University of Liège and at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) –Christine Macel: Chief Curator at the Centre Pompidou (France) –Simon Njami: Curator, artistic director of the 12th and 13th edition of Dak’art (Cameroon & Switzerland) –Hans Ulrich Obrist: Artistic Director of the Serpentine Galleries (UK & Switzerland) –Philippe Vergne: Director of the Serralves Foundation, in Porto (Portugal & France) Applications are open until November 15, 2021 (11:59PM CST).
