“If you take someone’s thoughts and feelings away bit by bit, consistently then they have nothing left, except some gritty, gnawing, shitty little instinct, down there, somewhere worming round the gut, but so far down, so hidden, its impossible to find.” (David Edgar: Mary Barnes)
The exhibition analyzes the inner tensions that arise from the problems of identity, whether it stems from the visual aggression of the digital world surrounding us, or the various emotional manifestations, defenses, inertia, or self-destruction. The exhibited works and their creators take the receiver closer to a universal yet individual perception by dissecting one of the aforementioned segments each. Different attitudes unfold: planning and research, spontaneity and inward observation.
