The ‘Inebriation’ exhibition explores the art history of wine and alcohol, the visual representation of hedonistic revelry, and explores the many nuances of intoxication through different sections, from the pleasures of revelry to the dark side of excessive drinking and addiction.

From Renaissance masters to Picasso and contemporary artists, the selection includes a range of exciting works – with a few Hungarian names to name, among others, Béla Kondor, Pál Szinyei Merse, Károly Lotz and Csaba Rékassy, and contemporary artists such as Kristóf Balogh, Imre Bukta, József Gaál, István Nyári, Dóra Szöllősi and Péter Ujházi.

In addition to a selection of paintings and prints, the exhibition also features a site-specific installation by József Szolnoki and sculptures made from beer cans by Róbert Borsos.
