One of the protagonists of our exhibition is the Guardian Angel, for whom, we might think, multiplication, simultaneous presence, is a working skill. He is the beautiful enabler of this classical institutional system. Although his representation does not require strict iconography, his role is clear. His presence in the world is sometimes tangible.
Even more beautiful than the Angels, Angelics are mysterious beings; as if they had nothing to do with earthly reality. A gentle, carefree – childlike – group of ladies, perhaps existing as a company of happy souls nestled in dolls. Raptured beings of unknown birth, with enigmatic missions. Their absence here on Earth is a daily experience. What we have instead: the angelic and angelic-photographed circle of our modern age.
