Do you remember what it felt like to see something completely ordinary for the first time in your life? Like your own feet, for example? Probably not, but perhaps the feeling can be recreated.
Seeing the rabbit in the magic picture, experiencing that what is a square in one dimension can be a cube in another, or even a sphere, gives you the joy of marveling at things.
The creative process of Köztes terek (Intermediate Spaces) strives to achieve precisely this. Four photographers: Fehér Vera, Budavári Csaba, Hegedűs Ákos/morpho, Imre Varga, two writers: Eve Horváth, Ágnes Magyary, and video artist Gergely Pápai are working together to create intermediate spaces in which the phenomena that occur show a different side to themselves than usual, revealing a different truth about themselves.
They seek real and symbolic places where standards do not apply or function differently, and where points of reference disappear or change, allowing wonder at the world and the possibility of insight to be reborn. What we took for granted is called into question, giving us the chance to strip things of the stereotypes that have been imposed on them.
