Vanityssimo – a kinetic installation in which an oil pump is paired (intersects) with a swing beam. The surface of a small pool functioning as a water mirror reflects texts written by me, which run on eight LED panels.
The installation is a hybridization of three different technologies. One is related to extraction, another to self-sustainability, and the third to logos.
Vanityssimo is a techno-centaur. On the other hand, it is a critical confrontation—intellectual and technological hubris—with its impact on the environment and human civilization.
Ultimately, it is a critique of our current collective state of consciousness and value system.
