Two painters

07. January 2026. – 30. January
MegnyitóOpening: January 6, 2026, 6:00 pm

Two painters from different worlds: delicate, dark, pastel colors in Szotyory’s works, and strong, expressionistic chaos in Zoltán Mária Flóra’s works. The paintings counterbalance, complement, and reinforce each other, which is perfectly evident in the space of the 2B Gallery. Two painters from different backgrounds who are good friends. Despite their many differences, they share the same defining characteristics: modernity, individualism, and a tradition of humanism. They were born in the same country and are contemporaries, but worlds separate them: Szotyory is a gentle representative of humanist Christian culture, while Zoltán Mária Flóra is the child of a tragic Jewish bourgeois family who became an artist. These worlds appear in their works in such a way that the boundaries dissolve, the differences are visible, but the essence is profound, expressive painting, which is not an illustration of a program that can be summarized in a manifesto, but what painting is classically for: that which cannot be expressed in words.
