The autumn exhibition at HAB Sculpture Park is a dialogue between two sculptors’ metal works. Metal is a common language for them – resistant and malleable, cold and sensitive at the same time. The exhibition highlights the contradictions inherent in metal: weight and lightness, structure and surface, human gesture and industrial imprint. The different material sensibilities of the works speak to each other in a shared space, where the material itself becomes a dialogue.

In Antal Plank’s sculptures, steel is the carrier of movement and color is the carrier of rhythm. Steel simultaneously conveys the raw power of the industrial world and the delicacy of geometric form. Color is a natural part of the surface; it does not decorate, but rather provides energy that transforms the material into a living presence. Behind the geometric structures, there is always a human gesture: a balance between order and play.

In Andor Becskei’s works, metal moves towards fragility. The traces of welding, burning, and oxidation are not hidden but become part of the work—as if the material itself were breathing. The sculptures hover between the rigid and the organic: here, metal does not resist, but yields. The works themselves carry contradictions: the organic form and seemingly soft fabric are made of steel fibers, whose gently curving arc is contrasted by the angularity of the pedestal, which becomes part of the work.
