Péter Tamás Halász’s latest exhibition at the acb Bak Imre Space builds on his Partition series, which the artist has been developing with surgical precision over the past decades. The series, which reuses computer components, acquires a particular relevance in today’s global economic environment, where these elements are becoming increasingly valuable. As a result, the cycle’s underlying allegory—that these technological fragments rival the filigree craftsmanship of ecclesiastical devotional objects—appears more self-evident than ever.
Beyond this, the Partition series not only examines the impact of the digital world on religion but also investigates the nature of light itself. In Halász’s other works as well, the psychological, economic, and socio-critical dimensions of light and reflection play an important role, along with their influence on material and object culture.
