You Are Late for Late Capitalism

16. March 2026. – 27. March
MegnyitóOpening: March 14, 2026, 6:00 pm

The exhibition by Polish artist Michał Chojecki, founder of the independent publishing house Oficyna Peryferie and the Warsaw Zine Library, entitled “You Are Late for Late Capitalism,” complements and further develops the theme of the artist’s latest publication, in which he engages in a critical — and sometimes ironic — dialogue with social imaginaries surrounding capitalism. At the opening, we will hold a pop-up fair where you can support the artist and independent publishers.

Chojecki draws the viewer into his game through the format of shared exercises. Visitors are invited to complete tasks, follow instructions, and participate in the unfolding narrative. Through this interactive structure, the artist reflects on deeply rooted social myths — embedded in our upbringing, collective imagination, and media discourse.
At the center of the story is Bob. Sometimes humorous, sometimes unsettling, episodes from his life become a framework for reflecting on the nature of effort, ambition, and the promise of success. What will Bob’s fate be? Will he manage to do “the right thing”? How much effort is enough?
