In conjunction with Béla Bartók’s birthday, K.A.S. Gallery presents the latest exhibition by textile artist Szilvia Szigeti, created in response to Béla Bartók’s piano cycle *14 Bagatelles*.
The exhibition marks a new phase in the artist’s interdisciplinary approach, built on a dialogue between music and visual art. The series of textiles, created using digital printing and composed of elements of identical size, reflects the diversity of Bartók’s groundbreaking piano cycle, composed in 1908. Through playful geometric forms, folkloric and constructive elements, and a varied use of color, the works reinterpret the character of each movement.
In addition to the textiles, the exhibition features excerpts from the music film Bartók – 14 Bagatelles, directed by Mihály Kerényi and featuring pianist Róza Radnóti, which is set to premiere in early June 2026. Visitors can also listen to the individual piano pieces using QR codes, allowing them to experience the visual and musical aspects simultaneously.
