Mar Vicente is a contemporary Spanish artist best known for her geometric works, particularly those based on cube shapes. In her work, the cube is not merely a form but a tool: the foundation for exploring space, balance, order, and structure.

His works are often minimalist in nature, yet they create a strong visual impact through precise composition, repetition, and the use of materials. By varying the cubes, Vicente influences perspective, the interplay of light and shadow, and the viewer’s perception of space.

His works evoke both mathematical rationality and artistic abstraction, thus forming a bridge between scientific thought and visual art.

Several exciting parallels can be found between the works of Mar Vicente and Benedek Barna. Their works start from the simplest forms. These forms are not decorative elements, but systems: tools of order, repetition, and variation. Furthermore, both artists make the viewer’s perception the central element of their works: the visual experience is not static but takes shape during the act of viewing. Another important parallel is minimalism and reduction. Both artists work with a restrained palette, where the deliberate arrangement of a few elements creates complex meaning.
