The subject matter of the H2 Archive‘s image material is photography as a medium, depicting people in relation to each other as beings in the shadow of the passing of life, with the ideal of humanity. Despite, or rather because of, its capture of a moment, photography exudes something of eternity and, paradoxically, of passing. The essence of the images in the exhibition is not to create a tricky unreality with Photoshop; the goal is not falsification, but to make the transformed image believable until the moment of conceptual exposure. To lwt the silence of the past become audible. Let us be present in it, let us be there, where the visual imagination creates the reality of the spectacle.

The technical aspect of the exhibition material is the retouching of reality. Photo retouching is a segment of photographic history that also belongs to the subject of photography. Retouching has been used since the beginning of photography, when the main aim was to remove technical errors from the image. Later, it was also used to remove individuals from photographs, etc. Today, it is mainly used in advertisements and posters to idealize and beautify the appearance of models, to remove flaws from the body and face, but visual fake news would not exist without it either. Photos created with artificial intelligence already “retouch” and transform everything.

The H2 Archive: Computer Contact uses well-known people as “statistics” not for the purpose of entertainment, deception, or falsification, but to expose the humanity and idea of human relationships.
