The creative practice of a subjective perception of reality saturated with emotions regularly manifests itself in the representation of noisy, visually overcrowded phenomena of the outside world. Gábor Barbulszki’s canvases seek to unleash the dynamic forces of this rich, self-contained inner reality with a joyful gesture of childlike exuberance.
His unique painterly language is shaped by the accents of his unique vision, as the artist, who lives in Germany, also emphasises the interplay of three languages in his paintings, due to his half-Hungarian, half-Bulgarian origins.
At the same time – referring to the other meaning of the word accent – his vivid use of colour and form are also incessant pictorial attempts to emphasise the essence, which rather evoke a sensory experience of loss of emphasis and saturation.
