Orsolya Péntek’s exhibition Elements is based on the teachings of the Indian, Chinese and European tradition about the elements: air (wind), fire, water, metal, earth and the fifth element, the quinta essentia.
The oil on canvas paintings in the exhibition at the Karinthy Salon not only unfold the three different world views, but also bring each tradition into dialogue with the other: the Chinese fire is juxtaposed with the Indian fire and the fire of the alchemists, the fifth element is juxtaposed with ether, etc.
As in the case of the Tarot exhibition at the Umbrella Gallery in 2021, the exhibition is accompanied by explanations by the artist, who also works with traditionalist texts, so that the visitor can gain a complex picture of the philosophical and cultural-historical background of the various elementologies.
