What could I present at an entire exhibition without it looking like an ‘ENIHORN Showroom’? After all, I have been living with my own exhibition space for the past 11 years.
Many people already know and wear my bags, and I hope that EH bags bring them as much joy as they bring me.
I have been working with my brand for almost 15 years, yet every day I am full of questions. Is what I do useful? Are my designs, my finished bags and clothes practical, perhaps beautiful, possibly innovative? Does the world need one more bag or piece of clothing? If not, because I am inclined to think not, then what next, given that I have been working with leather goods and textiles since 1990, which means this year marks my 35th year.
What fewer people know about me is that since childhood, I have instinctively and consciously strived to live an environmentally friendly life. This is what started my collection of red Coke cans (the brand that was perhaps the first to spread everywhere in the world) a few years ago. Back when the “take back” program wasn’t in place yet, it bothered me that we were throwing away this valuable raw material (along with thousands of other valuable raw materials).
Although aluminum cans have since become recyclable, my supportive family and I set aside a few bags of them so that I could try my hand at “assembling” aluminum and leather scraps. The exhibition EH’armony is based on this new “surface,” where the color red (a color I have only begun to like in recent years) is accompanied by the color blue, the color that has been a constant companion in my life.
