Since late 2018, Dániel Halász has been traveling through Hungary’s smallest villages to better understand the unspoken survival strategies and the everyday ingenuity that permeate the lives of those who live there. The exhibition features a selection of material documented in more than eighty villages over the past few years.
Accompanying the exhibition is a limited-edition photobook that interweaves the photographs with fragments of conversations, statistical data, personal memories, and literary texts.
The exhibition and the book are part of an art research project conducted at the doctoral schools of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and KU Leuven / LUCA School of Arts.
