Three of Hungary’s leading higher education institutions in the field of art – the Faculty of Arts at the University of Pécs, the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, and Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Eger – are presenting the outstanding works of their painting and sculpture students in Pécs this year. The exhibition Young Painting and Sculpture 2025 in Pécs is the next step in a multi–year collaboration following previous successful presentations in Eger and Budapest.
The daily work carried out at the three institutions and its results prove that the relationships established with the public and the art market are significant beyond the institutional framework. Each participant considers it an important mission to support the introduction of young artists and to deepen the discourse related to art education, which is accompanied by numerous professional forums and exhibition formats aimed at recognizing student work (such as diploma exhibitions, student awards, and auctions).
The works on display reflect the diversity of themes and student creativity through exciting techniques, sizes, and use of materials. As a result, the works in the exhibition are not organized according to the educational institutions of the artists; the curatorial concept focuses on related content and thematic connections, and the exhibition itself thus provides an exceptional opportunity for visitors to perceive the visual thinking of future generations.
