A central element of JF Julian’s photographic vision is the exploration of nighttime. His Firefly series is built on tension, vulnerability, fleeting flashes, and the raw emotional charge of human presence. The photographs oscillate between shadow and light, spontaneity and contemplation, revealing fleeting intensities—much like the light of fireflies in the dark. The project is the culmination of more than 15 years of artistic research, shaped by intimacy, fragility, and the conscious embrace of eroticism as a legitimate art form.
