The exhibition will feature my latest sculptures, which are “wrapped” in textile fibers.
I started with the gesture of swaddling, and I was interested in its sculptural use and exploring its potential. Swaddling can be conceptually linked to a paralyzing form of care that protects but also renders the swaddled body ineffective. I liked this idea when wrapping everyday objects. By deliberately exaggerating the wrapping, the forms were also transformed, becoming creature-like or puppet-like bodies. New situations and stories began to unfold…
