The backbone of the presentation is a selection of archival and current video material from the MKE Department of Intermedia. Some of the most emblematic video works of the last two decades are complemented by recent and present video works. Among the alumni are a number of authors who have since become key figures on the Hungarian and international art scene and whose contemporary works have been the subject of response videos by some of the current students. The themes of the selection range from pseudo-pop to punk music videos, from criticism of TV programmes to public interventions, from performativity to the
to questions of identity. The twenty-seven works in the collection cover a wide range of electronic cinema genres, from narrative to video essay, from subjective documentary to animation, from analogue 16 and 35mm film to digital animation.
Authors of video works:
Bálint Bence, Csüllög András, Dragomán Gábor, Elek Mur, Fudella Annabella, Gutema Dávid, Hahn Petra, Horváth Míra, Ilauszky Irma, Illés Haibo-Melykó Richárd, István János, Katarina Sevic-Majoros Zita, Kiss Judit, Korponovics Roland, Kútvölgyi Léna, Lévai Flóra, Mécs Miklós, Molnár-Barabás Örs, Murányi Márton Mózes, Németh Hajnal, Petrovics Ákos, Prokób Boróka, Schubert Lilla, Surányi Nóra-Najmányi László, Szentpétery Annamária, Szilágyi Kornél (Igor Buharov), Takács Máté

The video compilation is complemented by a selection of drawing exercises at Intermedia.
In “drawing, book, exercise”, the student engages in a long-distance dialogue with a partner of his/her choice in a book or found book-like object. The content and form of the dialogue is free, the only condition being that the book becomes a systematic and visible imprint of this process. In the lucky case, the book-like object will fill up during the academic year, while its makers and other students reflect on it continuously. The book pages presented in the exhibition, on the one hand, give an insight into individual sketchbooks and, on the other, into the “drawing, book, assignment” pages, led by Gábor Bakos for 25 years, with an emphasis on the more recent pieces.
