The photo-based works in Collection K.A.S. represent artists with different perspectives. They can still be well organized around a few focal points. Such catchwords are children, nature, somatic-spiritual experience of a higher order than cognitive, and actualized tradition, since they all offer an alternative to profane, everyday rationality.
In addition to the search for transcendent values, knowledge and the acquisition of knowledge remain a central issue, and the need for innovation and an experimental attitude are also essential to the pieces of the collection. How do these many works fit in a single collection, in the mind and soul of a single owner? ‘The soul works on all of them,’ summed up Ilona Nyakas in preparation for this year’s exhibition.
