A commemorative exhibition was opened in Transylvania in 2024 to mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of sculptor András Kós (1914-2010). The works of the son of architect and writer Károly Kós, who died 15 years ago, were curated by his daughter Katalin Kós, Ágota Portik Blénessy and Zsuzsanna Szebeni, and presented in a collective exhibition covering the whole of his oeuvre.
The memorial exhibition includes a selection of important works, including sculptures selected by the artist and donated to the Reformed Church in Farkas Street, as well as works in the care of the family and works on loan from some individuals. The exhibition will be completed with a number of personal items from the artist’s family and will be enriched as the artist’s legacy is being processed.
The Budapest station is curated by Zita Bodnár and Zsuzsanna Szebeni, who have reworked the original exhibition, placing the artworks in the Vigadó’s spaces, making them suitable for display here and incorporating the latest results of the legacy processing.
