The latest works of Márton Romvári’s new cycle are on display. The view, while not familiar, is an organic continuation of everything we know from Romvári’s earlier paintings.
The malleable patches of varnish, in a constant state of formation, have dissolved and left behind their outlines, which have taken on a new life: they have moved, interacted, created contrasts and, not incidentally, created space around themselves as plastic forms.
The new paintings have a lighter, airier feel, and despite their seductive minimalism, can be approached from many angles, but perhaps we are best served by listening to our intuition, as the artist did.
