Ágnes Hardi’s Pattern exhibition features new site-specific reliefs that engage in a sensitive dialogue with the historic mosaic floor of the MKE Parthenon-Frieze Hall. Hardi’s works depict the inner-city spaces of our everyday lives with a scale and precision reminiscent of architectural models, thus ejecting us from our spaces, but only until we realise that we have been oblivious to what surrounds us day after day.
The reliefs reveal the textures and structures of the past while capturing the identity of the space with new visual patterns. Ágnes Hardi’s art reimagines the round-about houses of downtown Budapest or the much-seen mosaic floor of the Epreskert in a contemporary context. Patterns, habits, patterns – let’s look at them!
