Following sneakers and junk food, Ádám Dóra’s first solo exhibition with Heart & Cherry examines another aspect of consumer society in his large-scale panel paintings that straddle the line between representation and abstraction. In his paintings, form slowly fades away, with colors and brushwork becoming more prominent, giving his subjects a powerful visual presence. In his paintings, the artist discusses not only social consumer habits, but also the diversity of contemporary painting. Dóra Ádám’s painting is both traditional and conceptual. He often refers back to art history with his themes, while also dealing with the immediate “here and now.”
