László Hajdú painter’s exhibition entitled In Space and Time presents various compositions from the artist’s various periods.
Hajdú graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts between 1957-63, where he studied with György Kádár and Endre Domanovszky, and Jenő Barcsay. Since 1969 he has been living in Szentendre Art Park. Founding member of the Szentendre Graphic Workshop and the Artéria Gallery Cultural Association.
His geometric abstract paintings are built from dots and lines. He considers himself a painter without objects, who is primarily concerned with the representation of space. The densely grooved curves or diagonally running grids of lines on his canvases create dynamic compositions. The geometric forms sometimes carry associations with architectural elements, and the surfaces, enriched with incisions and applications, are transformed into spatial objects.
