The Szolnok Bronze Sculpture Symposium was held for the eleventh time at the Szolnok Art Park last summer. This year’s guests were sculptors Iris Kulcsár and Norbert Kotormán. Other participants were sculptors Fábián Baráth, János Miklós Boros, Péter Gálhidy, Réka Gergely, Tamás Gilly, Norbert Révi and György Szabó.
As usual: in August, in sweltering heat, we worked in the workshop, which was often over 50 degrees Celsius. Heat, smoke, dust, dirt: these are the natural consequences of this kind of sculpting. The Parthenon frieze room now provides a clean, elegant space for the sculptures that were born then and are now chiselled.
The opening will give visitors a more detailed insight into the work in progress at the symposium and a selection of the sculptures produced there for the following two weeks.
