The visitor moves on from the Signal Grids series, a relatively early phase of his oeuvre, to the rarely shown early oil on paper works and conceptual works of the early Szürenon period, and more recent laser artworks. The rooms present these spachtli-calligraphies, conceptual works and assemblages next to each other.
In the exhibition installation, the Signal Grid works, made in the 1960s with surrolight illumination – based on the artist’s original design – are lit by a top left light source only, helping the viewer to recognise the light-shadow concept.
