In 2025, the House of Arts Veszprém is launching a new exhibition series that places a spotlight on works preserved in its fine art collection.
The first exhibition takes inspiration from Dezső Szabó’s panel painting Volcano, created using photographic techniques, and explores a specific branch of disaster-themed art — the world of volcanoes.
This unique exhibition showcases a dialogue between past and present: alongside rare antique books and 19th-century paintings by Miklós Barabás and Károly Kisfaludy, visitors will also encounter contemporary artworks created in the past two decades, all centred on the theme of volcanoes.
The exhibition builds a bridge between historical art and today’s mediatized visual culture.
