Six Revelations of the Foolish Gallery Guard

Balázs Kicsiny’s exhibition reconstructs the gradual dismantling and sudden collapse of an art gallery that no one visited. The process leading up to the collapse is illustrated by paintings, based on the testimony of the hall–keeper of the ruined gallery.

The events that followed the collapse, which spread and caused irreversible changes in the lives of the region‘s inhabitants, are documented in a documentary compilation using tabloid news.

The exhibition also features the Foolish Guard’s Memorial, which commemorates all those who witnessed the inexplicable events that followed the collapse of the picture gallery.

The exhibition places the events in a time and space over which an unfamiliar political figure exercises power.

Balázs Kicsiny’s exhibition at 2B Gallery is the inaugural exhibition of the Széchenyi Academy of Literature and Arts.
