At the edge of being and non-being, technology and nature merge. In his solo exhibition, Gábor Kitzinger turns the Vajda Lajos Studio into a Platonic khōra, a space of potential and becoming where the line between technical systems and living organisms begins to blur.
At its centre levitates a human embryo, taking shape out of a particle simulation and sensing the presence of those who approach it. Around it sit works in polystyrene, the packaging that protects our devices in transit and becomes rubbish the moment they arrive.
The machine simulates human birth; the artist gives the machine’s own birth form in light-scapes. In this double genesis, attention and connection are not what derives from existence, but what makes it possible.
