Unknown Pictures by André Kertész

If it is possible at all to compare different fields of art, he was in photography what Thomas Mann was in literature, Bach in music and Cezanne in painting. However we had better not seek for such paralells but simply say that Kertész is one of the most significantfigures in the history of photography. If Museum has the opportunity -thanks to János Bodnár- to exhibit 20 unknown pictures by Kertész, which had been taken a few month before he died and display the objects from Kertész’ apartment from the collection of the André Kertész Museum in Szigetbecse, which were sent home to Hungary by the André and Elizabeth Kertész Foundation, to exhibit photos taken of Kertész’ surrounded by his favourite objects in his apartment as well as Kertész-paraphrases by Péter Herendi, well, we can claim to have done our part.

Yours would be to see them either here in the Museum or in June in the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.
