The unusual exhibition road trip leads artists with diverse
artistic focal points through three countries over three weeks. The culminating exhibition cities are Basel, Vienna and Budapest.
However diverse the backgrounds of each of the individual artists, they all are connected either existentially or through friendship
to one of the three cities. The concept asks that three exhibition groups develop from the pool of participating artists.
Each group begins their travel and exhibition in a different city. After one week they set off for a different place.
This way, in each city there is a three-part exhibition cycle within the three weeks.
On each Thursday evening the artists
will invite the public to an opening and the exhibition will be closed each Saturday afternoon with a brunch.
The created and exhibited artworks in various media will offer valuable clues to the artistic attitudes, strategies and
working processes of the artists. Unlike the usual travelling exhibition, there will be no art transport for accomplished artworks.
The artworks will be formed by the act of transit and intense involvement with the location – in situ – in the exhibition room.
The exhibition space will as well traverse various dimensions and appearances: In Budapest the project is presented in a traditional
stately gallery room, in Vienna it will be in the office rooms of a former administration building and in Basel the artists are
confronted with the smallest exhibition space of the city: the Artachment Zollhaus.
Here specifically the challenge is a group exhibition in a 7m2 freestanding building.
