Balance – Industry and Art

The group exhibition and series of events organized by the Association of Young Applied Artists — which counts more than 350 active artist members among its ranks, including both emerging talents and artists recognized on both the domestic and international stages — showcases the achievements, developments, and future aspirations of contemporary applied art. The event carries three layers of meaning: on the one hand, it takes stock of creative work and achievements; on the other hand, it illustrates the connection between product design and artistic endeavors; and last but not least, it introduces visitors, through the lens of fine art, to the traditions of the “design profession”’s past, the challenges of its present, and the possibilities of its future. The works on display offer a comprehensive overview of contemporary Hungarian applied arts, ranging from interior design to industrial design, ceramics, textiles, metalwork, and glass, all the way to visual communication.
