The series focuses on destructive contemporary polarised political discourse and its representation in the media as well as its impact on the human psyche. Its visual framework is defined by the dynamics of nature and the built environment.
The project consists of pairs of images that form a chain of associations according to a universal system of symbols. The series is composed of staged photographs and images lifted from various media, as if looking at the world around us through the eyes of a 21st-century flâneur.
*The choice of title – “You have to change your life!” – was inspired by the last line of Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem Archaic Apollo Torso. (Translated by Sarah Stutt)
