The theme of the exhibition of Márta Czene’s latest works is related to the artist’s previous works. Drawing on her experience of motherhood and memories of her artistic family, she has continued to explore the image of women and the forms of female identity that have evolved within it. This was greatly influenced by the use of nude models by members of her painting family and the identity of the nude models.
The focus is now on the development of the image of the female body and role through childhood, based on encounters with role models and the theme of sexuality. As a young child, these concepts and situations are presented in an incomprehensible and inaccessible way, but they are already being used as points of reference and routes.
Although the exhibition is inspired by the age and development of Czene’s daughter, she is working from her memories of her own childhood.
