We have a simple white pedestal
in front of the white wall of the exhibition room.
On top of the pedestal there is a metal singing
bowl with water in it. It is not full all the way up to
the rim of the bowl.
A motion sensor follows the
visitors’ movements. An icon suggests permission to
the visitor to stick their hand in the bowl. As soon
as the visitor’s finger touches the surface of the
water in the bowl, the motion sensor turns on a
projector, and the wall behind the bowl slowly starts
to display a splodge of light scintillating like a veil as
if it were the reflection of some kind of water-light.
The scintillating splodge of light slowly intensifies,
taking a few seconds to reach maximum intensity.
The splodge gradually assumes the shape of a man.
The sight lasts until the waves in the bowl die down.
