Kisterem 2023 presents the latest paintings by Gergő Szinyova at its autumn opening exhibition. The young painter explored the problems of abstract painting for nearly a decade, and after a long transition, by 2020 he had reached a fully figurative painting style – his last solo exhibition at Kisterem in 2021 already featured these decidedly narrative paintings.
This autumn’s exhibition will feature the latest works in the figurative programme that has been ongoing since then, with elements familiar from earlier paintings and a technique reminiscent of Szinyova’s various printing processes, which the artist uses to address issues of reproduction.
