We could already see György Simó’s collection’s pieces both in Hungary and in international thematic exhibitions, but this will be the first event, where the collection will get into focus. The exhibition will be a representative compilation about the collections most interesting artworks.
The György Simó doesn’t start to collect consciously to bulit up a collection, but because of the admiration of art. Reasons or prices don’t affect his choices, rather his emotional impulses. These impulses led him to the contemporary art world too. This is, from which he refills with energy. He only can live, and exist with works, reflecting to the present.
The leading part, of his collection is contemporary hungarian and fewer foreign works. Next to the panel paintings there is a place for photographies, also posters. Photos take one fourth of the whole collection, and there are some „vintage” pieces, like Károly Escher, István Bara, Kálmán Szőllősy, Pál Kaczur. And from the younger generation Dezső Szabó, Szacsva y Pál, or works from the internationally most well known Muntadas.
The exhibitions and the collections speciality are given by the high-standard creations, and also from the unconscious made by the collector’s personality general aspect of a complex, but harmonious unit.
