“Reflectopia” is a made-up word, a kind of compound word, which is a combination of the words “reflect” and “utopia”. “Utopia” usually refers to an ideal place or state, while “reflect” means to reflect or reflect back.
So a “Reflectopia” can be an imaginary place or state where the art of reflection and light are in perfect balance, and where visitors can have a fascinating and inspiring experience.
Through the works on display, thoughts and feelings are reflected, reflected back and unfolded. Some of the works take a slice of reality and reflect on it, others place an existing object in a different light, and some use reflection to reveal an imagined inner state.
Walking through each space is a kind of imaginary journey, where you can enter different worlds and discover a hitherto hidden side of reality.
