Dóra Maurer’s “Photolinguistics” workshop, 1987-1988

The chamber exhibition of the Vasarely Museum in Budapest presents a selection of photographs and photograms by one of the best-known Hungarian artists. Dóra Maurer’s pedagogical work played a very important role in her life’s work: she taught a number of courses in creative techniques, including photography. In the mid-1980s, working together with young art students, she created her experimental photographs and photograms, which often reflected on each other’s works. The aim of our exhibition is to pay tribute to and thank Dóra Maurer, the founder of the OSAS group of artists, who celebrates her 80th birthday this June, and is one of our museum’s most important partners.
