“Rétroviseur” – the title means “looking glass”, but it can also be translated as “looking back” in French, referring to my past and my years in Lille. (It’s also the title of an art magazine in the north of France, some of whose covers and graphics I designed twenty years ago.)
This small chamber exhibition may not be a life work exhibition, but it is representative of a certain life journey. An immersion from the past to the present; time-collage, space-time. Photographs, paintings, prints, silkscreens, objects, artist’s books, diaries – spanning over forty years.
Film reels, music stands, telephones, pruning shears, chicken cages ‘meeting on the autopsy table’. References, reworkings in a certain “periodic table” of their own.
